It is an active switch which will intelligently route Ethernet messages only out the appropriate port. The switch is also a "store and forward" device, enabling multiple stations to communicate with the switch simultaneously. 10 Mbps/100 Mpbs auto-negociation enables devices that transmit at different speeds to reside on the same subnet.

The switch is designed to mount on a DIN rail and survive the temperature and vibration extremes that may be found in practice within a standard industrial enclosure.

No programming required means the switch can be up and running in a matter of minutes and the switch can be powered off a low voltage (10 - 30 VDC) power supply that already resides in most cabinets.
