RF Spectrum and the Coexistence View Spectrum Energy and Bluetooth / Wi-Fi Coexistence

With the ComProbe Sodera analyzer you can not only see all Bluetooth communications fully decoded and decrypted, but you can also view all of the RF energy existing in the 2.4 GHz ISM band! You do this by using the Coexistence View within the ComProbe software.

In the coexistence view Bluetooth packets are overlaid on top of (when turned on) spectrum data. The darker the blue color shown indicates more RF energy. With this data you can often identify environmental transmissions like Wi-Fi data or even a microwave oven - both of which could potentially interfere with your Bluetooth communications. It is all clearly visible in the coexistence view.

The next version of ComProbe software will allow you to connect a ComProbe 802.11 a/b/g/n Protocol Analyzer via ProbeSync technology together with a ComProbe Sodera analyzer and see fully decrypted BOTH Bluetooth and Wi-Fi packets, fully decrypted and decoded.

Message Sequence Chart (MSC)

Message Sequence Chart technology is available in the complete line of Frontline® ComProbe® Bluetooth protocol analyzers. MSC displays a concise overview of a Bluetooth connection, highlighting the essential elements of the connection. At a glance, you can see the flow of the data, including role switches, connection requests, and errors. You can look at all the packets in the capture, or filter by protocol/profile. The MSC is color coded for a clear and easy to use view of your data.

MSC is a diagramming technique used to describe the message interchange between Bluetooth devices. The Frontline implementation of MSC is a powerful navigation tool that allows you to easily understand what is going on over the Bluetooth link. With MSC you can quickly see the whole story of the Bluetooth link in one view. The MSC is also an excellent educational tool that gives you a simplified view of the very complex Bluetooth wireless protocol.
