The Anybus BACnet to Modbus gateway allows Modbus devices to communicate on a BACnet/IP network. The gateway works as a translator between the two networks allowing Modbus RTU, ASCII or TCP devices to show up as individual BACnet-compliant devices on a BACnet/IP network.

Modbus Master/Client

The gateway functions as a Serial Modbus RTU/ASCII Master to Modbus devices connected via RS232/485 serial port of the gateway and as a Modbus TCP Client to the connected Modbus TCP servers. On the other side, the gateway provides Slave functionality to the BACnet/IP devices connected to the Ethernet port. A mix of both Modbus Serial and Modbus TCP devices can be connected at the same time. 

Designed for use within Building and HVAC applications

With its rugged industrial design, it enables central control and supervision of Modbus devices for example in Building Automation and HVAC industry (Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) applications, such as, Boiler controls, Variable speed drives and with Metering applications.

Easy web-based Device Profile Creation

You will need to create a device profile for each Modbus device and upload this to the gateway. HMS offers a library of common device profiles. If one is not available for your device, HMS provides a tool and instructions on how to create a device profile for your Modbus device. You can then do commissioning and troubleshooting in the included web interface.
